It could go one way...or the other. It’s up to you. Because there’s more than one way to look at things, this necklace is designed to be reversible.
The dynamic pendant glides end to end along the hammered and twisted cross piece and features a patterned metal called mokume gane (a Japanese technique named for it’s wood-grain appearance) - concave on one side, flat on the other. A patina is applied to create more contrast in the colours by blackening the copper parts of the grain, as well as some silver on other parts of the necklace.
The lowdown on this piece:
- Mokume gane (21 layers of sterling silver/copper/shibuichi with wave patterning) in copper frame, with patina
- Hammered/forged cross-piece (sterling silver)
- 1.3mm 18” rolo chain (sterling silver) with custom clasp
